After the rain, roses everywhere, their thorn-bitten thick lips, petals falling like tricks, lipstick red pistils around their bushes.

I love this observation,it is just how my roses look right now. I have also just read up about your Tree Festival and am sorry to have missed it sooner - I was away at the time. Worth an annual event perhaps?
ReplyDeleteYes, they were wet after the thunderstorm and a bit draggled but oh so fragrant in the night air, thanks!
ReplyDeleteNot to worry if you missed June's Festival of the Trees, it's an ongoing event that is hosted at a different blog each month. Festival of the Trees is celebrating its 5th year on July 1st, and it will be hosted at Via Negativa, Dave Bonta's blog. You can get the info for where to send a link to your submission there anytime.
Thanks for dropping by, Libby, a fellow stoner (!), and it'll be lovely to see you at the Festival too!
